1896 Restaurant

The collision of an extensive wine selection, adept, and attentive staff serving great value fine food, will remain distinguished in your mind and produce what is known as the "1896 Restaurant". As well as serving lunch Monday to Friday, this room is regarded as a centrepiece of function rooms and is perfect for cocktail parties, work events, sporting dinners or just maybe a special birthday celebration.

The restaurant can be booked as one combined room which seats up to 100 people, or if you have a more intimate gathering in mind the rooms can be separated into approximately 50 person rooms. The North section looks over Australia Square, and the South over Hunter Street. Both rooms are available from 6pm onwards.

From time to time the restaurant is booked for a sportsman’s lunch. Past guest speakers have included Kerry O'Keefe, Ken Callender, Liz Ellis, Malcolm Johnston, Ben Darwin. This event is usually MC’d by Channel 9 personality Tim Gilbert.


Members Bar

The NSW Sports Club Members Bar is located on the 3rd floor. With a relaxed atmosphere it is a perfect place for our Members to have a great time with all the comforts.

This is truly one of the most unique bars in the heart of the city, where you really are treated like one of the family.

Each Wednesday evening is the National Poker League from 7pm. Visitors welcome.

There are three plasma screens located around the bar, KENO and gaming machines.
